Page One, Page Two...
We have to pretend plan a social event using social media, but the logical mechanics of how it will work have got me worried. I have found a very nice wedding venue, and the food is excellent at moderate prices, but the numerical choices are part of the problem
- an Anonymous poll does not give me any latitude with tight numbers. Let me explain ... let's suppose that for the pretend wedding I choose 90 guests O.K. the caterer requires at least 40 of each of 2 menus, so I offer a choice of three menus (plus vegetarian).
What happens if I get 50 who want Italian, 30 who want Hawaiian and 7 who want Gala(Beef/choice of two entrees) plus 3 Vegetarian ?
I can only solve this by doing a list with written individual preferences, so that I can see what the 2nd preference of the 7 is. Also normally wedding invitations are sent out to a husband and wife - so with different menu choices it becomes a two stage event with individual invitations being sent out.
I probably should make it private voting so that people can't see what each other is voting for, in which case why on earth would you use Facebook when separate emails would work much better, with a master control sheet which I tick off who hasn't replied yet. Also, I need to try to place guests as close as possible to other guests who are eating the same food so that the food is served promptly (and hot !). I think that Facebook would be more suitable for a pretend Engagement party, so I am going to change to this plan. Hawaiian Buffet ( Pork, Beef and Chicken)
Gala Buffet (Beef) with chice of two hot entrees - Roman Chicken or Barramundi with Orange "Chardonnay" Sauce
the Vegetarian menu so far I figure would be Vegetarian Lasanga with the Barramundi and part of the rest of the Italian menu
Anyway I will look at Downloading "Capture Wizz" and plan a much simpler Pretend Engagement Party on Facebook !!!
